    Hamlet at Chevalier Theater

Chevalier Theater
30 Forest Street Medford

In the more than 400 years since it was written, no play has ever rivaled -- let alone surpassed -- Hamlet. Now, the Bay Colony Shakespeare Company is ready to show you why with a two-hour production of Shakespeare's greatest work. After the death of his father (King Hamlet), young Prince Hamlet comes home to find his uncle married to his mother and installed on the Danish throne. At night, the ghost of the old king demands that Hamlet avenge his "foul and most unnatural murder," thus setting in motion the play's five acts of intrigue, violence and profound humor. In the celebrated tradition of "travelling players," the roving B.C.S.C. and its associated actors, musicians and stage combatants come to Medford's Chevalier Theatre to stage this riveting version of Hamlet, directed by Ross MacDonald.
